Hello,
I recently found this coin(?) along a major river bank outside of Winnipeg at what I would say is a Victorian site, as most items dated from the late 19th century with the exception of a few older coins that seem out of place.....like someone threw out their old coin collection.
This baby came out with a lot more corrosion (or as some call patina) and I cleaned it enough to see some details.....hopefully enough for an I.D.

The other side......

P1140339 (800x599).jpg

It's about 2 cm in diameter and weighs 7.7 grams.

P1140342 (800x599).jpg

It is about 3 to 4 mm thick.

I would appreciate any help you could give. Hopefully, it isn't a temple token from India Lol.
Thanks in advance.

Nice find. Looks like it is made of copper.....what did your MD read.

Thanks for the replies. Catherine, my detector will not discriminate this coin even with it cranked to max. disc. which means it's copper or possibly bronze.
I.P. most of the interesting coins pop up out east but nothing too exciting happens here with coins.
WilliamBoyd, for some reason my brain says "India Temple Token" but I hope it's not! :laughing7:
