No idea what this is, so I thought you all might like to have a look and share your two cents...
Looks to me to be hand-forged from iron. It's got a hammered texture all over it. Weights about 8 oz. Measures approximately 5 1/4" from end to end and about 2 1/4" across the ring.
The piece is identical on both sides with a line down the center of the point which is faceted in a tapering diamond shape. That white stuff on the end appears to be wax. Looks like someone once used it to dig out a candle or something.
The pix show it best.
My best guesses so far are:
1.) Plumb bob
2.) Spear point
3.) Weapon
Whatever it is, it must be mighty old! Let me know what you think... Thanks!
