Anchor buttons questions

A good buddy of mine recently dug these buttons,I cant find anything about what they may be?One Texas Navy Button I seen on the web looked similiar but not exact.Any ideas??He also found a Marine button nearby?

Although I dont have it in front of me I am pretty sure thats it.I have several pants slack tightners that have there mark,and there is quite a range in Patent dates from 1856-1870's?
