The one in your kml file is like 25 or 26' wide. I'd guess they're markers for aerial surveys. I've seen them out in the desert, they were plastic sheet held down with nails. There was a lot of sampling going on where they were. They might have used the markers to match up samples to an aerial photo to present to investors. Be an interesting trip if it isn't still under claim.
