Now I don't like dark wet dangerous places.
But I had herd of great history has been found at the bottom of a well.
my dad said I did have the brains god gave me.The well could cave in.
But the lure of all the story's I'd herd was just to great.
so I put on my hard hat and tied off to the back hoe bucket. And got my climbing
gear on and slowly repelled down the well.Forty feet down is a long way down.
brick lined for twenty feet and rock lined after that. The well hadn't been used for many years the water table had dropped but it still was dark and damp.I then had my metal detector lowerd down and a small shovel.I could tell I was standing on something. It was an old tricycle. and then I found an old rusty sewing machine some old bottles and a
couple of old pots. But the real treasure was lots of coins!mostly pennys some dimes
a few quarters a badge and vary worn silver dollar an old boot some old broken plates
a rusty pistol and a brass belt buckel with a bullet hole in the corner. And more bottles
a tobacco can and some kind of tray a doorknob( glass) and a iron round tall box.
the box hindghed from the side and had coils in it.One bottle had a very intusting
thing I have never seen.Mybe someone can help me out here.It was about nine inches tall
on the front it saysW.J.Ridge below that it says bideford the neck has been squeezd togather and theres a glass marble above that. the marble won't fit through the top of the bottle.A ceramic soda bottle and a moonshine jug

Sounds like great stuff. We really need pictures before we can give you the kudos you deserve. How about it? Got a scanner or a digital camera so you can post some pix? I'd really like to see what you found in the well. I know of one well that I'd like to investigate, but I don't have a way of getting out...getting in is the easy part. LOL

Whoa! That's awful. Sorry about your health. Sounds like ebola. ;) Sorry! Trying to add a little levity to your malady.

See a doctor because who knows what is wrong with you. Could be chemicals, hanta virus, bubonic plague, valley fever, something like those nasty things. Where are you? Desert? Plains? South? I know that in parts of the country bubonic plague is still found in the fleas of rodents. I have a hunch that if you had posted pictures with the original post, this illness would have never happened to you. It's Treasure Hunter's Revenge that is attacking you. There is a whole category here on TNet that explains how to post photos. See the little box under the big text box when you post a reply? On the lower left? That's where you would click the browse button and then click on the name of your photo file and then click open and then click post when you get back to the reply box. It's easy if you have saved your photos as .jpg or .gif files.

Be careful out there. Hope you return to good health real soon.

your bottle is called a codd bottle carbination pressure held the glass ball up to make a seal. they are collectable. circa late 1800s ps get well soon (pun intended)

Best wishes for your health . Years ago when I was young + dumb + full of #$& my buddy's well went dry during a real dry spell . It was an old hand dug well 30 or 40 feet deep + lined with rocks . He wanted it cleaned out while it was dry but was afraid to climb down there himself . Yours truly said sure no problem . I climbed down to the bottom + that hole sure looked small at the top . Anyway he lowered a bucket on a rope + I cleaned it out for him . Didn't find anything except a rusty bucket . Of course I wasn't treasure hunting back then . Didn't even think about finding coins or anything worthwhile . :-[
