Hey everyone,
Haven't got alot of forum time in the past few weeks. I started working full time again. So now I don't have all day long to just surf the net.
However between not being tiered and having other things to do. I've been poping out here and there just to get a fix. If I get home early that day and the weather is nice I head out.
I got stuck working over the holiday so I didn't get any serious hunting in at all. When time is scarce I go to a local old park that always seems to give up something.
I've came home with a few keepers every visit. The site gives up about 3 old coins per hr. Not alot but it keeps me going. I managed a 63 and 46 Rosie.
I also got 7 wheat's and a 39 nickle. I picked up a few nice relics along the way also. I did get a really old worn down token one day though. All I can get off of it is this. At the top It says Zimmerman's. At the bottom it says Pittsburgh.
The middle area of the token appeared to have writing but It is to worn out to tell. It's the size of a quarter. But it is made of nickle. Anyone out there have a token book and maybe could check that name. Or a similar one out of Pittsburgh. I may have it spelled wrong due to wear.
But the best Find I liked the most out of the past few hunts was a nice old Sterling charm. I got it while I was leaving. Don't you love when that happens.
I got a really nice quarter hit on a old dirt rd about 5 inches deep or so. I dug down got the dirt out and as soon as it split it came Rollin right out. I thought at first a religious medal but no. It's a Allegheny College Meadville P.a type charm.
I don't know the age of it. But know it's older. At one point the bottom half was in blue enameling. It's wearing of though now. They have been a college since 1815. That's about all I know about it.
Hope you all like the pics and story.
