Hey everyone,

Haven't got alot of forum time in the past few weeks. I started working full time again. So now I don't have all day long to just surf the net.

However between not being tiered and having other things to do. I've been poping out here and there just to get a fix. If I get home early that day and the weather is nice I head out.

I got stuck working over the holiday so I didn't get any serious hunting in at all. When time is scarce I go to a local old park that always seems to give up something.

I've came home with a few keepers every visit. The site gives up about 3 old coins per hr. Not alot but it keeps me going. I managed a 63 and 46 Rosie.

I also got 7 wheat's and a 39 nickle. I picked up a few nice relics along the way also. I did get a really old worn down token one day though. All I can get off of it is this. At the top It says Zimmerman's. At the bottom it says Pittsburgh.

The middle area of the token appeared to have writing but It is to worn out to tell. It's the size of a quarter. But it is made of nickle. Anyone out there have a token book and maybe could check that name. Or a similar one out of Pittsburgh. I may have it spelled wrong due to wear.

But the best Find I liked the most out of the past few hunts was a nice old Sterling charm. I got it while I was leaving. Don't you love when that happens.

I got a really nice quarter hit on a old dirt rd about 5 inches deep or so. I dug down got the dirt out and as soon as it split it came Rollin right out. I thought at first a religious medal but no. It's a Allegheny College Meadville P.a type charm.

I don't know the age of it. But know it's older. At one point the bottom half was in blue enameling. It's wearing of though now. They have been a college since 1815. That's about all I know about it.

Hope you all like the pics and story.

HH Jeremy

Nice digs Jer. keep them coming ;D Darn work it really gets in the way.

You must spend a good amount of time cleaning all those finds! They always look great in the pics!

Congrats on your finds, Jer! Nana :)

Jer,
Work SURE can get in the way, huh?

Wow, not bad for an after work hunt. Great finds, thanks for posting all your relic finds also. I know what you mean about finding the good stuff on the way back to the car. For some stupid reason I do that a lot. My partner tried it today, cause he always shuts off his detector on the way back to the car, and after seeing what I usually do on the way back, he tried it. He came up with a Seated dime 1877, darn the luck haha, I told him, you have to hunt on the way back. I think he is now a believer.

Well thanks again for your great post and great pictures.

HH, Ringfinder

What can I say Jer that hasn't already been said? These type finds are becoming too routine for you. But just the same, keep posting , you're doing great! Monty

I know what you mean about the "w" word! I sure miss having all day to metal detect and goof off around the house....... ;D

Nice digs and thanks for sharing - keep 'em coming!

Some good stuff. You seem to find a lot of Pittsburg type tokens. I bet you have a good collection. Too bad the one wasn't more legible.

WTG Jerdfx............I think that star piece in the middle is something to

think about!!!! ;) Very nice! Great job once again.....HH

Thanks alot everyone.

Sorry, For the really slow response. I'll still have time to get out and hunt. I've been lazy though lately. Haven't been researching. Takes up alot of my time.

The item that is really pointed and long was a weird relic. It struck me as a weapon at first glance. Would have made a great spur but it was way to long. It's really sharp and the middle tooth is broke off some how.

It threaded onto something at one point. It was also gilded in a fake gold coating. I can still see it under the dirt. Have no idea what it was.

Mirage, I do come up with alot of tokens from my city. I guess because I am always hunting in the city. Neat to find old history of your town.

Nana, Your right I spend alot of time cleaning finds. I love to do so and try to get the items as best as I can. The less I find the better the items get cleaned.

It gets really tiering after you do a handful of coins and relics. A few pieces I can handle with no problem. It's when I got alot to do at once. I start to run out of steam.

The good old great find on the way back to the car has been done by us all at one point. It's a good way to try for that last minute keeper.

I do have a site lined up here to hunt. A good friend of mine hunts and told me the other day he got a foundation for me to hunt back in the woods. Now I just have to catch him on a day he is hunting out there.

Thanks again everyone,

HH Jer
