An hour at the park:

I was sitting here hovering over the posts and loitering in the chat room when it dawned on me. "What the heck am I doing glued to the PC!??!?" I took the kids to a local playground and hunted around the equipment for about an hour. The first hit I got was deep(about 10") I dug and dug then I found a ring! Whee! Ok, so it isn't real! But it sure got my blood pumping! I found some weird chunks of cast aluminum, 16 cents in clad and assorted trash items. The nickel came out of the ground red/copper colored, I thought I had found a rare or old coin till I got it cleaned off! I had a blast and will try to get back over there tomorrow! HH omnicognic 8)

Thanx everyone! From the way people reacted there (like I had just stepped out of a space ship) I don't think this park gets hunted much! When I pulled the ring out I got mobbed! I had about a dozen kids aged about 5 - 10 who stayed with me the whole time and asked lots of questions, along with their parents(who also asked alot of questions!) I didn't mind, they were all just being curious! (Besides, maybe I could inspire the next generation!)In fact there was a little girl there with her mom who told me that she has a detector and I told her and her mom about this site. I plan to go back over there today if I can complete(or sneak out of) the Honey-do list! Thanx all! HH omnicognic 8)
