Supposed to rain all day. It wasn’t raining this morning so I got out to the same field for about 2 hours. Was going to detect with a friend this afternoon but it has been raining off and on since noon. It started out slow but then the targets started popping up. Excluding winter, I have not had a hunt like this in a long time. You will see what I mean… Bronze ring, blue glass bead and a black glass button.
Lead. Lead seal, quartered horse looks like an Indian rider found in two pieces, cloth lead seal, unknown type seal and a lead rivet.
Found several crusty zinc coins and these two, a 1932 and a 1937 with swastika. The 1932 is only my second, the first was immaculate until I showed it to a friend who dropped it on the floor, not only did it chip the side it fell on, the shock went through the coin and chipped the opposite side as well. Obverse.
Reverse.
A few relics. Brooch or maybe a button, some type of mount piece or maybe for a cane or beer stein, very small thimble, small piece of a utensil handle possibly Medieval and a small buckle dating from 1400-1600 I think.
Reverse of the mount piece, has a large mounting point.
Obverse of an awesome Iron Cross with crossed swords, bronze second class award.
Reverse of the Iron Cross, 1939.
An interesting silver ring. Looks to be old and the silver appears brittle. Maybe the devil? No markings in the part of the loop I have, part of the loop is broken off. I looked for the piece to no avail. I may have found the other piece a few years ago, LOL.
Silver ring left view.
Silver ring right view.
Another top view of the silver ring. Any ideas on the ring? It was an awesome hunt! HH, Mike
