first thought it was from an old record player arm or an automotive window crank, but i doubt its that. Heavy, nickel plated brass, machined. Some steel residue inside the big diameter (like a snap ring?), as well as on the end of the arm.

Out board motor throttle control lever.

Here's a wild guess. It's the brake arm and side plate for a rear bicycle hub with internal brakes. Similar, but not quite the same as this pic of a front hub. Gary

i liked the coaster brake for a bike idea, but i dont see a way to key it to the hub. i looked for a throttle lever on google, but its only 3 inches long and again, it needs some way to key it. Im thinking more along the line of a Geneva mechanism or some other indexing arm. I think its going to the scrap yard non-the-less. mike
