TREASURE hunters in Germany are on the
move after the discovery of a telegram
copied to SS chief Heinrich Himmler that
they believe may lead to the discovery of
the fabled Amber Room of the tsars.
Historian Karl Bernd Esser found the telegram
in an archive of the Institute for Contemporary
History in Munich. It orders the delivery on
April 18, 1945, of 11 crates containing
"valuable material" to the village of Pfatter,
near Regensburg, in Germany.
