So I hunted a large 1950 era schoolyard today which is surrounded by mid to late 20th century homes. Found a few modern silvers in the past and I have pounded this spot since 2015. The nearest 19th century homes are quite a bit further away. This 1837 half dime was plenty deep and about the only thing I have ever found here with age. I was thinking maybe a drop from when this area was logged or farmed but then found a rare for me three ringer nearby. So maybe they were hunter drops. Also scored the ball button at another site today too.

Holy cow! First year seated.... Nice find! :hello2:

That coin looks half finished after seeing so many later seated coins posted. Looks so "clean" without the stars.

I almost never see 1830s seateds. Nice find!

My previous oldest was a well worn 1843 half dime. Figures I would find a first year seated instead of a last year capped bust.:BangHead:

The details on that baby are ammmmaziiinnngggg, congrats!

They'd both be nice finds but I think I'd rather have the first year seated.

that's a very special find. congrats!!!!! :icon_thumright:

Those no-stars seateds have always been a favorite, quite beautiful in my opinion. Congrats on a lovely find, I'd rather have that than a comparable capped bust so don't go kicking yourself, you'll get one if you keep swinging!

She's gorgeous!! Ya just never know when a site is finished giving up the good stuff!!

Toasted that is a sweet coin dude!!!!!! Ya never know what your gonna find or where. Thanks for the post SWEET

Excellent find! You have such great opportunities on the east coast. It almost makes me want to move.

Congrats on your oldest American silver... You sure picked a nice one to find :icon_thumleft:.

Congrats on the awesome finds! Those tiny suckers are hard to find but really rewarding...
