nope --being it was an english warship* under international law they had to get the british govt ok BEFORE THEY SALVAGED ONE THING OFF IT * so the deal was very clearly set up before hand -thus no legal hassles later on that way.
 

Is this a coin(arrow) ? It appears to have a design. Or am I just crazy? :icon_scratch:

Is that stuff just laying open on the sea bed like that for 200+ years or has it been dug out from the silt/sand?
 

The cannons were just laying on the sea bed. Those are shells, not coins.
 

it's the crest of the King of England at the time. Did you watch the discovery channel show for the Oddysey explorer? They showed them finding this and hauling up two of the cannon. One was a 12 pounder and the other a huge 42 pounder that was 12 foot long and 4 tons. Stunning.
