Nice rock! I enjoy just picking up natural ones too. I've actually turned so-called Mother Nature made stones I've found in creeks, in to homemade stone clubs. I'm in the process of making handles for some right now. The experts will say natural but I believe some of these are really a piece of the natural history here in NC. In addition, I've found actual arrowheads nearby too, so they won't make me believe otherwise. That's what makes it so special, by considering the possibility that some ancient farmer modified this stone to implement whatever work he desires. That is truly an extremely old looking geode. I'd would have definitely put it in my collection too, especially if geodes don't normally occur there. Then, I would theorize other possibilities of what could have put that stone there. I'm not sure if this is relevant to the opinion you're wanting to hear. I figure I'll throw this at you from a rock hunter here in Northwestern NC.
