Rich--Are we looking at the front and back of two tokens or one side of four tokens? In any event, help us out with the wording on each of these - I looked through the Houston section of the Texas token catalogs, but don't see any matches.

Aluminum tokens were introduced in 1893 (I think that was the year) of the World's Fair in Chicago. It took a while for them to become popular, so most of them date from 1905 or so. Dray tokens were popular from 1900 - 1920 or so when trucks became more available. Cigarettes and tokens refering to them were not around much until the 1930s.

It is a shame what chemicals in the ground do to aluminum tokens, especially where there is moisture to speed the oxidation process!
