Hey everyone! It’s been a while, I’ve been so busy detecting has been on the back burner I did get out today for a couple hours to a late 1700’s village site with tons of foundations! I dug the usual bent square nails and found 3 sweet tombac buttons but I got my coil over a couple interesting items! I’ve tried researching both but I’m not finding much. I knew the button was obviously not colonial, after cleaning it I found it says “Hildreth” on the front and the pat date on back is Dec. 9 1924.. has anyone seen this button before? The other item may be colonial, or at least 1800’s?? it’s thin stamped copper with a woman’s portrait. Does anyone know if it has any meaning and how old it might be? Any help is appreciated!
