Almost Duplicate Hunt Of This Morning's
I decided to go back to the field this afternoon, sans boxers ( and no, Abe, I wasn't naked detecting lol ). Had another hunt just like the morning one, but I did find a much older flat button this time. Beautiful plain one with shank still intact! I like this one!
Dirty pics again:
The round balls were .526", 223 grains and .592" and 344 grains. The flat button is 23 mm. Probably my best flat button so far. Cleaned pics:
I almost forgot. Last Christmas evening, I took the dogs for a walk to this same area of the field and found something that was ID'ed a few months later when Bill D ( Va ) found the same thing. Was part of where the handle for a brass kettle attached. I believe the part I found today was from that same old kettle. It's the "eye" piece in the pics.
