My thoughts exactly.....some sort of bird/animal tag....but ....again I think it looks a little large.

I'm not sure,but this leg band on my mccaw is pretty good size, but does'nt have the raised ridges on the outter edges.

thx for the help it deffo seems to be a bird ring the B.R.C stands for the bentley roller club and the 88 would be the year the bird was hatched and the rest is the birds id number :)

I thinks its from a swan as your in England and these are ringed and protected by the crown, if so they would be grateful of your info that one has disappeared and would tell you everything you need to know

Seems to me if it were a bird or animal band it would not be one piece. It would have a cut in it to clamp around the limb.. Is there a seam in that one where it was clamped?

its depends on when they put the band on, my parrot band is a solid band that can't be removed unless you cut it, they put it on a few days after they are born, for the parrot it proves that he was born in the U.S. an not imported from the wild

Yes, that tentative incorrect ID has been sitting there for a long time. It is indeed a rabbit ring from the BRC. They're slipped over the feet of potential show rabbits at around 8 weeks.

Sorry to bump an old post but I just need to straighten out this ID.

It's for a Registered Show Rabbit - BRC= British Rabbit Council.

At least after 13 years Marshall finally received a positive I.D. on his find.

Unfortunately, he hasn't posted since September of 2011, so it's not likely that he'll ever know this! :laughing7:
