Alexander City

A short lived gold strike gave birth to this boom town around 1895-1896. Never met anyone who ever heard of it. Did find newspaper articles about it for my next book. The prospector thought he found the Lost Keyes Mine. Location North Central, northeastern portion of the state. Claim filed in Glasgow.

It is interesting that the articles, vary as to the towns location. One being in the Judith mountains which I don't agree with, another Box Creek Dawson county as the site. The article used the name box Creek, but from topo maps cracker box Creek is the location name today.
