Alaska has one of the highest rates of alcoholism therefore alcoholism lowers homicide rates.

Alaska has one of the highest male to female ratios therefore more women mean more homicides.

Talker one of the most interesting parts of studying statistical correlations is understanding the concept of causality.

It's like the stick market Super Bowl theory that you hear about often. Just because two items have a correlation does not necessarily mean anything. You have to did a lot deeper. It's actually a common trick used by scammers, politicians ( on both the left and the right!!).

As you probably realize something as complex as homicide rates actually would have hundreds if not thousands of variables impacting.

Actually was just reading an excellent piece that claims crimes is declining significantly because we are no longer using lead paint. Very interesting piece.

Not disagreeing or agreeing with you always just try and teach folks the tools they need to be a good skeptic and not get taken advantage of. Best.

I think there was a misunderstanding. I do know that when you stop using any part of your body it atrophies. That includes your brain and particularly your thinking ability.

Guilty as charged. Very very organized and very fact and detailed oriented. Needed those skills to be very successful at my occupation. Anything said on the tv or written in research reports had to be backed by research and fact. Not sure if that's a bad thing. Ill be hopefully learning new things until the day I die.
