I'm heading to the east coast next week and plan on bringing the E-Trac along. How do you recommend breaking it down? Any parts to leave in checked vs carry on? When I took my AT Pro, I'd disassemble the control head and take that and the coil in carry on and leave all the pipping and arm cuff in checked luggage.

I'd do the same.... Coil and rods in checked baggage, and carry the control head/battery on with you. Those ramp baggage guys are rough on bags!

When I travel with my E-trac, I pull the coils off the rods, remove the battery and tape the terminals, bubble wrap the control housing, and put the whole works in a big suitcase. I usually pack all my hunting and beach clothes in there too to give it some extra padding. No problems so far. Gone all around the USA (including Hawaii) and to New Zealand twice doing it this way.
