I'm guessing a finial from the stopper of an old perfume bottle. Probably silver plated at one time. Kinda has an art deco look to it.

Is it flat like a trowel or round like a vase, plumb bob or stopper? ...or is it half-rounded?

Can we see a picture on edge?

I think jims very close with the trade good idea .Trade from spanish to indians ,Try and look in some trade good books 1600s to 1700s..

When you said it was made of copper I instantly thought "lightning rod top". I don't know how decorative they make them.

could it be a trowl missing it's handle...like a miniture one used by the Masons?

How big were miniture trowls used by the masons? What were they used for?
Building minature walls.

I cant figure out what the symbol is. Looks like a cross between a parachute and a honey dipper. :icon_scratch:parachute.webp Is it depicting a toy top?

 its a copy of a spanish amphora

A quick search of amphora comes up with many differnent items, but they all have that similar shape. So is amphora describing the shape?

I doubt it. Amphoras are rounded vaselike containers and usually have two handles. I dont think this flat object is depicting amphora pottery. Even though relicdude has found one this shape, the depiction on the front has no top or handles and seems to be more pointed.

I still dont see it relicdude. Vases are rounded. Kinda resembles it but this item is FLAT as a trowel. Once again the depiction on the front has no mouth or handles. What do you think is depicted on the front? Cant be a vase without a mouth, can it? I dont think its a parachute either just looks like one. A flat no handled amphora with a parachute depicted on front is as good as any other guess at this time, I guess.

Maybe it's the pointer from a clock handle of a granddaddy clock?

Im referring to the parachute looking depiction on the front that has no mouth. The overall "trinket" may have a general amphora shape with a mouth but dont forget it is as FLAT as a trowel. Do you have a pic of a bronze amphora trinket that is FLAT with no handles?
