I cut out of work early today to go detecting in downtown Eugene Oregon. I dug a pile of clad and a few wheat cents, but I also dug my silver coin #3 for the year ~ a 1964 Rosie dime . . . . and silver coin #4 for the year a 1880-CC Morgan Dollar!!! This is the first Morgan dollar I have ever dug! And, it is also the first Carson City mint coin I have ever dug! WOOHOO ~ TREASURE!!!

In that condition your CC dollar is worth about $100, just so u know!!!

Congrats on the find!! I collect Morgan dollars and I can tell you this, a CC Morgan Dollar is very very very very... very (well you get the point) high on my bucket list. I doubt I would ever find one though. I would have to find at least 30 common Morgan dollars to find one CC and I doubt I will find a common Morgan. Where I am they never circulated much though. Anyways, Congrats! You are so lucky.

I'm guessing it would grade
VG Details: Damage (I see some hairlines from the dirt and such but it could be the photos)

Congrats!
Just for fun I posted a four of the 15 Morgan Dollars from my collection, nothing outstanding though.

I had a good run of morgan finds in one spot,it was only after further researching the spot that it made perfect sense,i have been striking out there as of late,to pull any CC out of the ground would be cool

Wow, that's a great coin!, my only question is how the heck does one drop such a huge coin way back when and not realize lol!!

Fantastic score, congrats!!

Yeah I found an Eisenhower dollar on the sideline of a soccer field last year, I figured it to be a flip coin also.
