The medal looks like it may be from either the Cold War or Vietnam. the picture under the medal may be a old marble. The last pic. is a button not sure what era though. The second pic. looks like a button as well. The only thing I have no idea about is the first metal piece.

the buttons are more on the modern side. you can tell by the shanks. maybe blazer buttons

Thank you. I knew it was Soviet but haven't found that particular medal on the net. Maybe now I can.

Thanks. The first item really looks like stone but its man-made for sure. It's broken on both ends and sets my pin pointer off like is solid iron.

The buttons are real small. I saw a similar on that Diggers show and they said (with similar shanks) their button was from the 1800's. the ornate button has a broken stone (fake diamond?) in the center.

Thank you. I knew it was contemporary but do you have any background on it? Era it was given?

I found it at a local park (ironically "Vets Park") in Monterey California. Weird thing I found another military medal nearby but both were in a brushy area of the normal trails. Within 100 feet of each other but clearly unrelated. The other medal is a US Army major's brass (cluster) rank pin worn on the collar. While both are military medals, they are from different armies. We do have a military languages post here along with semi-closed Ft. Ord Army based.

It's such a strange coincidence and really weird place for someone to lose military decorations
