Aethelred IIs penny imitation

Re: Aethelred II's penny imitation

The answer is in your link, is it not? Ответ находится в вашем соединении, не оно?
These are imitation to the anglo-saxon penny Of etel'reda II, type long cross. Inscriptions, alas, are not read. In the general case this is called "Scandinavian imitation". These coins are encountered to porezhe of usual Englishmen and value more highly. But if it will be possible to read any name around the head, then coin can become VERY interesting. Thus far 4 nothing distinct I see.

Well, as you can see it's not a full attribution of the coin but just an opinion with which I’m absolutely agree. That is why I’ve asked here to fully ID the coin if it’s possible. Is it? :-\

And I suppose I should’ve translated myself the info written there in Russian as the ones done are made automatically and are not very clear, aren’t they? ;) Sorry for that. :-[

mojjax thanks for the link!

True and I do notice that the head on the obverse of yours is much thinner than the type II long cross depicted on Mojjaxs' link. I will see if I can find ouy anything.
