I'm helping a friend with his Excalibur 1000. The stock battery (NiCD 12v @ 700 mAh) is dead and I'm looking for a replacement

I see several on Amazon but the many discussions regarding the benefits and dangers of the different types seem to go on. Any Excalibur 1000 users have any reommendations?

I also see rechargeable AAs out there, etc, etc

thanks in advance

Both will work, just be sure when you put the end cap back on do not counter sink the set screws, keep them flush with exterior surface.

Without a doubt, I'd get the RNB battery for it. Incredible battery life and longevity.

which one are you referring to?

Not sure its O.K. for me to mention exactly where I ordered this yesterday to replace a dead Excal battery:

RnB EX-3000 Lithium-Poly Battery for Minelab Excalibur II w/ Charger

Do a search on some of the BIG sites and you'll find it...............or PM me.

That's the one......
