Additional evidence

All of that has been posted before over and over. This is new info I posted.
There were two Edward Fitzgerald Beales, "Ned" of California and Camel Corp fame and the son of Ned's brother, Truxton Dixon Beale.
Question: How is Thomas J Beale related to these Beales and whose sister married the Cripple Creek gold discoverer?

I would assume the person selling them had information in relation to the men and their operations

Was there a name?

Read your NSA documents you posted and find the Beale Family 1399 to whatever and you will find what you seek. Can't remember the name but you can read it online.

Are you referring to the Fauquier county Beales and not the Chestnut Hill Beales or to the Botetourt county Beales or the Beales in Pennsylvania?
There was actually a Thomas Jefferson Beale born in Butler, Pa.

They all came from the same place just like my ancestors did and that is Westmoreland County. The Beales of Botetourt County Beale's came from Shenandoah County or Dunmore County earlier and the Fauquier County Beale's branched off from the Westmoreland County Beales. But yes the Thomas J. Beale of Interest was the son of Richard Eustaces Beale of Fauquier from his first wife Bonaugh. They had three sons before he remarried ten years later after his first wife's death. His first son Richard Taverner Beale had childeren that spread out into Kentucky and Missouri. The other two sons Edward and Thomas J. Beale nothing on them. This Thomas signed his name with the middle initial "J" so maybe the reason Robert Morriss mentioned his middle initial. It distinguishes him from all the other Thomas Beales on genealogy web sites they have over 12,000 documents on Thomas Beale so there were quite a lot of Thomas Beales. I have over twenty that served in the War of 1812, If anyone has access to these genealogy websites look up Richard Eustaces Beale and his son Thomas J. Beale. He is the person of interest.

That is the only Thomas J. Beale that has been found, as far as I know. His cousin operated gold mines in Virginia just a little while after the time of the Beale expedition. There is an interesting theory about that.

Then again, any of the Thomas Beales of the right age that doesn't have an initial in his name could be the one. The total of times I've used my middle initial when signing my name might be 2%.

Which sister of which Thomas J Beale from which Beale family branch married which Cripple Creek discoverer of gold?
They all had sisters.
It is known that the Fauquier Beales were involved with the Franklin Gold Mine in Virginia, but the Thomas J Beale of this family, to whom the NSA referred, died a pauper.

I am hitting the ground running. I found the author of the "Job Print Pamphlet" today and it only cost me $14.95 Now I know the story is true.

Anything you can share?

Lynchburg, January 4th, 1822.

My Dear Friend Morriss: - You will, doubtless, be surprised when you discover, from a perusal of this letter, the importance of the trust confided to you, and the confidence reposed in your honor, by parties whom you have never seen, and whose names even you have never heard.

It is interesting that Beale seems to know that Morriss had never seen, nor even heard the names of the people in the Beale party. The only way he could have known this is for them to have been from another area. Perhaps closer to Richmond, or DC? Beale tells us that two of them lived near Richmond, so this seems to be the general area the party was from.

The Thomas J. Beale from Fauquier County was born near Richmond, Va. so it is understandable that two of his closest friends would be from the Richmond Area. They were actually born East of Richmond.

Yeah, I suspect that they all were from that area.

Still, according to Fauquier county tax records, this Thomas J Beale was taxed 10 cents for his horse, which was his only property, AND, died a pauper, 1851, in Montross, Virginia.
Does not appear to be the "Beale" of the job print pamphlet who had a vault containing iron pots of gold, silver, and jewels, not even sure if he had an iron pot.

Could be we will see. Those genealogist always get people mixed up. They did with my family and they are still wrong. I believe this TJB is our man just need to find more on him.

Was he " about six feet in height, with jet black eyes and hair the same color...his distinguishing feature was a dark and swarthy complexion...a model of manly beauty favored by the ladies and envied by men..." THE BEALE PAPERS
The "unknown author" was making a definite point with this description.

Yes, as a matter of fact he was. You can find a portrait of him at a Museum if you want to make an appointment to see it.
