born in 3 sisters, tx. now living west of tilden
Detector(s) used
X-Terra70, X-Terra 50, Ace250, Ace150, GTI 1500,GTA 1000 Ultra, Tejon, Vaquero
I dunno. But I'd be interested in knowing, too.

And another question - what difference is there between the pinpointers you hook up to the detector and the ones that are "only" handheld? Other than the chance of losing it, that is. ;D

The difference is that these in-line detector probes act like a smaller coil that you can use with the flip of a switch. They use the program your detector is using so they can discriminate and for the most part get better depth then a handheld (I use a sunray XL-1 on my XLT and I can pinpoint a target at 3+ inches and get a VDI Number on it)
I would feel lost with out my sunray!
I am not sure of the results you would get with an Ace 250 but it would most likely be similar

dont forget this means another cable to tangle with. so when you kneel down to dig, you'll have a headphone cable and a pinpointer cable to deal with.
