Hey Brother,
Gold always registers in the nickel and pulltab range with the ACE. The ace is usually very accurate with foil, so if it read foil then it probably is. Silver jumps, in the 10-25 cent range and jumps a bit usually. I have found over 200 gold and around 250 silver rings with the ace. I know what im talking about. You right sometimes it does help to slow down and scan with the ace and other times just change the direction ur scanning the signal.
