yeah its true. mine has been submerged a lot of times with no problems.
 

sweet, I'll have to give it a try...would have never tried that without reading it. Being a guy, that may have been the first full set of directions I have ever read.
 

yep..just don't get the control box wet...like after you put it in the water..don't hold the rod up so the water rolls down..lol
 

most all coils are submersible but need to be checked on a regular basis to ensure there are no cracks to allow water in.
 

I submerged mine awhile back and the next time I went to use it, it started falsing all over the place and it didn't matter where it was pointed. It said the sky was a pull tab.NO a nickle.No wait! A quarter...............Needless to say it ended up in Texas with Garret recalibrating it and replacing the coil, which I kept like new and inspected on a regular basis...It's doing much better now.

Just for good measure I sealed the area where the cable goes into the coil with some silicone sealer. No problems with submerging it so far. Monty
