Ace 250 or Ace 350

Well I dont know any about the ACE350...But i have used the 250 and was EXTREMLY inpressed with it...If you are looking for jewelry, i wouldnt think you would have a problem at all...about 80% of the gold i found was found with an ACE 250....what i liked about it was that it was simple enough not to make me think about what numbers to dig as my ATP is.

My hunting buddie runs an Etrac and when we decide to hit our "Hot spot" for gold, he always brings back out the ACE...its makes it vecry quick to dig and move on.

Good luck!

Piratebooty, Here is the truth, nothing but the truth, and only the truth.

If you get a Ace 350 or any thing better than the wife’s metal detector, then your metal detector will become her metal detector. It’s just the way of married life. :BangHead:

I never seen a Ace 350, so I can’t help to say witch one is better. My Ace 250 works just find for me. Easy to use and not to hard to learn on.

It sounds like you really want a DD coil, so get the Ace 350. If you don’t, it will always be in the back of your mind that you should have gotten the Ace 350.

If it where me, I would look for a use Ace 350 for the wife. That way you can keep your’s.

Diggin', that's great to hear. I've heard a lot of great stuff about it getting the gold. Think that's what I'll do.

Cactusrat... Lol. I just read that to my wife...she almost fell over laughing! We are pretty good about sharing though. Lol.

I go out some times with my friend detecting on the beach he uses ace 350 and other times his 250 and I go with my AT PRO when I find a target he will come with the 250 and he don't even get readings on the same spot so if someone prefer the 250 or the 350 over the AT PRO or E trac he is defiantly missing the deeper coins or targets not to mention the 250 and 350 have no ground balance

I totally agree with you...I only mentioned the Ace 250 because he said he was looking for jewlery, and its a easy machine that finds Jewlery failry easy....Now if it were about Deep targets or coins...than yea..the ATP is the way to go...and if you really have the coin...the Etrac is a Great Machine.....But for starters...for jewlery...the 250 is hands down the best bang for the buck...it helped me alot just learning about detecting.

some times I ask my self how deep the coins are buried and what detector I need to reach them I find out that most old coin are in depth that most detectors can reach and only the odds that are berried deeper now the question do I want to spend extra 1000 for an odd

I have both, a Compadre and the 350. Got both off ebay & paid around 130 for the one and 230 for the other in June and July.
My Compadre is very light and will beep on anything the 350 does. I've tested both on the same targets to compare the difference. The Compadre recovers or resets much quicker then the 350. An example is when I found a buried aluminum arrow 6" deep. making very short 6" swings over the shaft it pinged quickly. I could tell it was a long 24" object buried under the ground. Curiosity made me dig it up.

The 350 works ok too but does not recover as quick and I am using it more now then the Compadre. 350 has the pin point feature and depth gauge. If it pings there is something there. A couple weeks ago I had good high metal signal twice but had trouble finding the objects they were so small. Found two spent bullets 2 ft apart, copper clad lead 45 caliber. So it finds small objects.
Be aware my 350 also likes to sound off on coin want'a be's like bottle caps, Aluminum and large iron relics like Axe Heads or Chisels. They signal as a coin but they are just big metal. I am told this is true of most all detectors.

My Brother purchased a White's Coin Master Pro and it is similar to the 350 in performance.

I took both my detectors on vacation in the northern regions of Upper Michigan and prospected for Copper Nuggets in the old Mine dumps from the 1850's
Had our best year and because of the detectors found plenty of buried copper specimens rather quickly.

Hookedondetecting, that's real encouraging input. That's what I was looking for. Especially since you have both! I'm going to get them both too and see what happens. My wife is ready to get out there and dig!

Went out Saturday morning with some friends and one had the Double D coil on his Ace 250,and I used it and re sung over the areas and found a little more clad.I think I'll be buying one soon.

Has your step dad got his DD coil for his ace 250?,Ihave an ace and have been thinking about buying one, have you tried the sniper coil yet?

Well I found a deal in a New/Used Ace350. The guy bought it, tried it, and thought metal detecting was a sure fire way to get riches. He never did it before and so he hated it. It is in mint brand new condition. Box and all! Even the warranty card. I'll let you all know what I find with it. Oh,...paid $200 for it. Included a tall beach scoop. Also new.

Yeah you did good and with a long handled scoop , why can't I find deals like that, oh well least I know people who do, lol congrats tiderider

Try them anywhere you want but it you don't buy from Bart at BigBoysHobbies.net you will wish you did. Also many vendors don't include headphones with their detectors. I am pretty sure Bart does, I know he does with his ATP package.

I would be very skeptical of anything on EBAY or Craigslist.

All detectors will find coins and jewelry. The most important thing about any detector is you have to learn what it is telling you and that takes time and a trained ear.

Thank you Sir! We will beat any price out and still give the customer service we are so well known for. We offer lifetime support on any machine we sell with tips and questions!

I have the sniper coil it works pretty well can get closer to benches and in really trashy places but doesn't go very deep but pretty happy with it

Any update on you new adventures?

For about the price of the Ace 350 you can get a good used Whites XLT and have all the detector you'll ever need.

Do you have any problems with shipping to an Army Post office(APO)? I was thinking about upgrading to an AT Pro.
