Amazing day at an amazing site. Returned to the site I found my Wayne's legion button on Friday. I found a grand total of 55 buttons today, a state copper(either a Connecticut or a Vermont), a beautiful ornate buckle frame, 3 thimbles, jews harp...and a silver dime. The 1954 silver dime was sadly kinda heartbreaking. Was totally expecting an old silver, but hey...silver is silver and I can't complain. lol There are still signals there. At the end I was moving like a sloth and digging clumps of 3 buttons in between the nails. These are the sites we all dream to dig. Thanks for looking and HH!

:notworthy: Wow! Your buckle amazed me! Wow! :notworthy:

My theory on the multiple buttons & thimbles is that a seamstress one day got fed up with her meticulous work, felt antsy to get out and have a little fun instead, so tossed her thimbles and button box outside, then took off riding a fast horse around the countryside in her best dress -- a modest version of Lady Godiva, lol. :tongue3: :laughing7: Have Fun! Andi

Was thinking the same thing. Could some kind of seamstress worked out of there? For me anyway, I have dug 5 thimbles and that's kinda an unusual amount for me to dig all so close together. Not to mention nearly 150 or so buttons in a few hunts in a small area.

Great site and nice finds! I stumbled on a site and like yours, I pulled well over a hundred buttons thimbles and early coins. I have been wondering what it may have been, :icon_scratch:tavern? The bummer is when the targets are gone. Good luck

epic hunt! that's a lot of nice buttons. looks like you're on a great site.

I agree with Steve PA , not enough coins to be a Tavern . Seamstress seems like a closer guess .

An interesting personal obv. for A Tavern site was 15 buttons dug per one coin .

Are you kidding me? I have like 3 really old buttons in 2 years of detecting. lol

Awesome day. The button count keeps going up each time we go out there! I think this site keeps making new ones for us, lol. That would be nice a place that will never be hunted out! Congrats on all the finds.

Unfortunately I have several places here that are never hunted out. They are called modern parks.....LOL Never found a colonial button at any of them though.

DANG IT MAN!!

That's A lot Of Buttons.

Very Cool

I say it wat probaly a brothel. I'm voting Awesome !

Thanks everyone. Yeah, I'm definitely ruling out just your average house site.

That is a great post and a great site. Loved your pictures too, good job!

Now that is a great hunt. Congrats, you dug some amazing items there.
ZDD

now that is an amazing site!!, some killer buttons in there, very lucky to have such a great site

Congrats and get back out there!!

Somehow I missed this post - sorry Matt. That's becoming quite a prolific site for you. You're killing it on the buttons, and I love that frame buckle too. Gotta be more goodies there - good luck!

awesome hunt Matt! hammer that place!

Haha. It's okay, bill. The board moves so quickly sometimes ya miss good posts while others stay on top forever it seems like. lol Thanks by the way. Hope to pull some more goodies. I know they are there. Somehow my cousin and I both missed that buckle where we were both going over and over again.

Thats a ton of buttons for sure , maybe clothing factory ? Has to be hard to leave a spot like that, I would want to camp out there !! Keep on hitting it were rooting for you ! He-he

It must be nice to leave a site because you're tired of digging Colonial relics! With that many thimbles, you'd think it surely was a seamstress's house. If there is a creek on the site, maybe she even took in laundry for people. Nice site for you that will probably give you finds for quite awhile.
