Amazing day at an amazing site. Returned to the site I found my Wayne's legion button on Friday. I found a grand total of 55 buttons today, a state copper(either a Connecticut or a Vermont), a beautiful ornate buckle frame, 3 thimbles, jews harp...and a silver dime. The 1954 silver dime was sadly kinda heartbreaking. Was totally expecting an old silver, but hey...silver is silver and I can't complain. lol There are still signals there. At the end I was moving like a sloth and digging clumps of 3 buttons in between the nails. These are the sites we all dream to dig. Thanks for looking and HH!

Damn man that site is incredible! Beautiful shoe buckle and how much fun is it to have that many good signals? I was working an old site and got a very nice signal with a high number on my T2 and it turned out to be a 1949 quarter. I was so bummed out man. Then I smartened up and was happy that it was at least a silver coin.
Btw I bet your cousins gonna be bummed that he didn't make it today :-)

Wow, now that is the hunt of a lifetime right there. You are on some kind of a site my friend. Congrats on hitting colonial heaven. I have meant to take a little time and do some research on the Wayne's Legion buttons you have found and haven't gotten to it yet. HH

Awesome day. The button count keeps going up each time we go out there! I think this site keeps making new ones for us, lol. That would be nice a place that will never be hunted out! Congrats on all the finds.

Wow! What a haul! Congrats!

Thanks. Haha, yeah. I wish he coulda came out to dig. I like hunting together to see what each other digs. But getting to dig 55 buttons all by myself wasn't bad either. lol I think we are about equal now on button count. But he's upped on the Spanish silver...

I know! I was surprised I found that buckle right where you were gridding. It was a screamer and almost didn't dig it, thinking it was trash.

That's an amazing site. Not your average house site with that many buttons. I want to say tavern site...but not enough coins...Hmmm?

Was thinking the same thing. Could some kind of seamstress worked out of there? For me anyway, I have dug 5 thimbles and that's kinda an unusual amount for me to dig all so close together. Not to mention nearly 150 or so buttons in a few hunts in a small area.

WTG Matt - love the shoe buckle, I believe I have dug that exact same one. I love those days when you find a killer colonial site and relics are everywhere - our fields will be open soon enough.

Congrats!

I've looked at the Vermont and Connecticut issues and I just cannot picture either of them....(?) {It's probably just me and my unlearned eyes} Would you post some pictures please after a little clean-up?

Very nice finds by the way.

Wow what a day you had, congrats! Nice copper! The button count is just crazy. That site will be hard to hunt out. The person that dropped that dime didnt have clue what he was walking over. Can't wait to see what you get next. HH!

Thank you!

Speechless...for once! You're right that's a dream site! Just incredible. You have some killer buttons there and the shoe buckle frame is gorgeous. Can't wait to see what else comes out of there!

what do you think the site was originally?

Awesome haul! That rosie dime must've been a letdown , gotta be a seated or reale somewhere close.

Congratulations on that beautiful buckle frame Matt! :occasion14:
The buttons are are all in decent shape too, there just has to be more good stuff there!

Try hunting in an 'All Metal Mode' when signals start to get scarce and dig all the deep ones!
Dave

55 buttons?

It's like you're digging the Incredible Hulk's 18th century farmstead.
