I went back to the campus today for a nice 5 hour hunt. The sun was a nice change, the ground was soft and not swampy and the finds were plentiful. It doesn’t get much better than this. I still had some areas to check out before I start going over the area thoroughly. So I started swingin and wandering around to see what was hiding under the ground.

I dug a few tab signals, but passed most up in favor of the better ones, found a few aluminum screw caps from sodas and a few pieces of can slaw, one peace sign pendant, a big old pocket knife, 214 coins with a face value of $16.53 (2 wheats included along with 108 other pennies) a referee whistle and a small silver ring. It’s a cute little ring, but unfortunately the stone is a fake stone that has been badly treated by the soil.

A good hunt at a sight that has a lot of potential to produce modern coins with a little jewelry thrown in.

Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.
