A what looks like a rock set off my metal detector??

I found this rock buried at a beach and it set off my metal detector. Just to make sure it was what set it off I scanned it many of times and I'm getting a very strong signal from it?? Before I decide to break it open does anyone have any ideas of why??

I didn't mean that it can be measured by a MD by weight. I meant to put a comma there but when you use tapatalk you can't read your paragraph and search for errors. How can it reach a beach..ummm barges carry this stuff all the time as I said its still used today. I meant the material is light weight as opposed to a chunk of ore. I have huge piece of it myself because of the sun hits it different ways it sparkles like gold then silver,plus fun to watch ppl pick it up thinking its going to weigh like a brick and it fools them. Plz forgive my typing but big fingers on screen make for mistakes.
