hi went out today to a ploughed field and found what I originally thought was a silver plated button which turns out to be my second hammered coin!:headbang: its unbelievably thin and about the size of a uk 1p coin. I can see a cross an what looks like a shield on the one side and on the other side there's what looks like an F sorry there's so little detail its hard to describe!......:icon_scratch:.but if any one that knows anything about hammered coins could help point me in the right direction would be great! thanks Dan

My first thought was a British coin - maybe Elizabeth I? A threepence is about 20mm -- I looked up the size of a modern 1 penny and it is listed at 20.3mm.
