This is the first time posting a link so I hope it works. These are the first survery maps of Michigan. They are from the 1840's to the 1850's. They have all the counties in Michigan and you can zoom in and see the small writing. Some of them have more that one map for a township like a 1920's resurvey maps. The 1800's maps mostly show rivers, lakes, terrain and some Indian sites but very few of them. If you have rivers in your county that were dammed up it shows how it use to flow back then. There might be some information that might help you find places to hunt and for some it might not. Your county court house should have these maps and if you find something of interest they have field notes that go along with the maps at the court house.

Wow! Thank you very much for the link. My hunting partner and I have been looking for older Michigan maps for a very long time. Typically, the oldest you can get a hold of are 1874 - lots of great finds to be made on these.

Thanks again,

Ian

Just put me in for a cut when you hit it big. :laughing7:
I hope you get some use out of them.

Thanks for the link.

Sometimes good info is right under our noses. Now I know why Oakwoods metropark is off limits (old indian reservation).

Excellent site!!!! Thanks a bunch!
