I decided to head into the woods today where the ground is not completely frozen. I got a flutie mid tone sound with the Manticore. But it was repeatable in two directions. I dug a plug and found a nail & small piece of iron. I thought I might of got fooled by the iron. But I rescanned the hole and got a solid repeatable high tone. To my surprise it was a 1920 Walking Liberty half dollar that was partially masked by the iron. I took a picture of what was masking the Walking Liberty.

I also found a very small sterling silver pendant with a Binder Bros. maker mark on it. A a brass lamp finial shade topper & 1958 wheat penny.

Very nice recovery on the half, and Sterling pendant. Congratulations

Great finds -- and a great reminder to always re-check your holes.

always seems like the majority of walking libs posted are dated from the WW2 era 1940's. I love all of them, but I always like it when someone posts an earlier dated one. Great find!
