?A Trojan Horse?: GOP Reps. Break Down Immigration Bill Fight | TheBlaze.com

There's a video on the page which I cannot embed here, speaks plenty!

Republican House members leading a fight against Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said a “Trojan horse bill” is in the works to trick the GOP into voting for amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Reps. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), Steve King (R-Iowa) and Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) told Glenn Beck on his TV program Thursday that the Senate’s pending immigration reform bill will mean amnesty — and that a deceptively “good” bill in the House will get it pushed through.

“We have the really bad bill in the Senate and what’s going to happen, Glenn, is that a Trojan horse — a bill that’s going to really look good and really sound good and it’s going to talk about border security — a bill that we like will get voted on and passed,” Bachmann said.

Both bills will go to a conference committee to be reconciled, where “they’ll take the good guts out of the good bill, they’ll put the bad guts in the good bill, the Senate will pass it, it’ll come over to the House, and then [House Minority Leader] Nancy Pelosi and all the Democrats will vote for the amnesty bill, probably the committee chairs will vote for it, and we’ll have amnesty,” Bachmann said.

King said the Senate bill as it is written will amount to “perpetual and retroactive amnesty.”

“It sends an invitation to people who have been deported in the past: reapply, come back to the United States, we really didn’t mean it,” King said.

TheBlaze reported earlier Thursday that 70 Republican House members are planning a political showdown with Boehner to force additional discussion on immigration. It’s a risky move in that going head-to-head with House leadership could have harsh political consequences, including retaliation such as permanently getting passed over for chairmanship positions.

The speaker’s office did not comment on the Republican members’ effort, but Boehner told reporters Thursday that he doesn’t “intend” to push a bill that violates Republican Party “principles.”

Bachmann confirmed the lawmakers have signed on to force Boehner to hold a special conference session. They’re also planning a Lincoln-Douglas-style immigration debate in front of the Capitol building on Wednesday.

“What we have to do is not pass any immigration bill out of the House because that’s a Trojan horse,” she said.

Which is why dem are pushing it so hard....

Sorry but what is purpose of immigration laws if people can just walk across border illegally and be rewarded with citizenship...

It makes the rest if us born here or here legally less......

Sorry but what is purpose of immigration laws if people can just sneak across border illegally and be rewarded with legal residence and citizenship...

It makes the rest of us born here or here legally 2nd class citizens....

My wife is naturalized citizen, we went through the legal process step by step, paid the fees required for each step, stood in long lines had multiple interviews at each step if they are going to hand out free status to anyone sneaking across the border there is no need for immigration and I want the money back I paid to do it legally.
