I was a guest at a site that Kiros32 was given down where he lives; it's a vacant, treed lot that used to have a church and another structure on it. They're long gone, and so, apparently, are most of the old coins that were lost on the property. After detecting about three hours, my conclusion was that someone else had detected the site, but they managed to overlook an 1881 Indian head penny. I'm pretty sure one of my children needs it for their book; I'm certain that the '44 wheat I also found isn't needed . What is a palindrome, you ask? It's a word, phrase or sentence that is the same forward and backward. "Radar" is such a word. "Madam in Eden I'm Adam" is a sentence. Since I can, I'm considering this 1881 as a palindrome as well . My host had to leave after about three hours; I think the dead battery in his Jeep was giving him a headache! I intended to stay a while longer; it was, after all, a very nice afternoon. However, as I began detecting again (after jump starting the Jeep), a passerby joined me for some conversation. He spends a lot of time photographing the site, and talked about "energies" and other metaphysical phenomenon he has discovered there. Ooookay. He also told me that fill was brought in when the buildings were torn down. We could tell that there had been some soil inconsistency, and that didn't surprise me. Hunting season is just about over here, so I'll be heading back out to the woods to our 1800's farm site soon!
