Metal Detecting
Went out to the woods for a bit today and gave it shot. I wasn't in the woods more than 10 minutes and on the third hole I dug I found a sweet surprise. Had a nice dime signal about 4" down and when I popped the plug back I found this lil guy staring up at me. He had buried himself in the ground...I'm guessing to nest for the winter? Turns out my signal was just a piece of soda can, but I thought this was a pretty unusual metal detecting find. Especially to find it under the ground. Seen 'em on top before, but never underground. :)

Turns out the 4 hours didn't amount to much in the woods today. Only good keeper was this buckle. Found a '42 D wheatie as well, but didn't take a pic of it. Hope you're all finding the goods!

Happy Hunting!

Stumbled across this guy on the river last August. I was glad he gave me some warning as I approached. ;D

Good Lord!!! That's a thick snake. I dunno what my reaction woulda been to that. I'm fascinated by snakes, but getting surprised by them is another story. Especially one this size! Good picture!

That rattling stopped me in my tracks and had my heart pumping until I caught sight of it. The worst part is not knowing where they are at.

I'd love to see one, but wanna know where it is first.

Reminds me of Raiders of the Lost Arc

Sulla to Indy: "Hmm, Asps, very dangerous, you go first."
