A souvenir medal?

I went back to the school where I found the 3 rings yesterday. I guess I cleaned it all out because the only interesting thing I found today was this "medallion". I forgot to put the dime in the photo for size reference, but its a little smaller than a 50 cent piece. Rings up around 80 on the AT Pro so material may be brass.

I googled and checked ebay but couldn't find anything similar. Anybody ever seen one or know for sure what is is?
