My wife bought me a cheap detector (Bounty Hunter Tracker PRO) to shoot coins with. Yes, it can detect a quarter at 6" deep but 99.99% of the targets it finds are false (beep, beep, beep, beep.... nothing there. And every 5th target is a silver dollar or a 50cent piece. Hundreds of targets in only one hour (beep, beep, beep) yielding nothing. Yes I put it in "coin mode" discriminating everything but silver coin. Found nothing in the course of a week but did a whole lot of digging. The device has been returned to the vendor, I need a more reliable, predictable device - without spending $1000.
Any ideas???

Thanks You!!

Would the Ace Apex fit the bill?

Garrett is known for their easy to use interface.
don't know if you have decided on a detector yet but before you decide on the apex you need to go check out some videos on the ace apex like Calabash diggers comparison and Vegas detect videos
watching several videos on you tube was what I did and it became quite apparent in a hurry for me that I would never own a Apex.
watching several videos I narrowed my search down to two detectors for my grandson the two that ended up at the top of my list was the Simplex plus and the Vanquish 540 the Vanquish is a multi frequency detector but not water proof i do not know if it is even rain proof since it comes with a rain cover, the Simplex plus is totally water proof but it is a single frequency detector I ultimately decided to purchase the simplex plus because of it being water proof, and have no regrets in my purchase for my grandson
The price the Simplex plus sets at makes it the best bang for your buck, in today's market, and quite honestly every time my grandson detects with me using the simplex plus it totally amazes me just how great of a detector the Simplex plus truly is so much so that while I am waiting on my pre ordered Legend to arrive I have ordered a second Simplex plus for myself.
Just some food for your thought

hear me now, ... believe me later, ... Simplex with the SP24 coil

I pre-ordered a pig in a poke (Makro Legend) since my experience with the Makro Simplex has been stunning.
Makro has a very tall order regarding the Legend surpassing the Simplex performance:)

Agree with you but I still think the Legend will be well worth the wait

I hope so, ... been reading the Legend Manual so that my upstart will go smoothly.
