A nice little surprise on Labor Day

Being roughly the size of a dime , but a tad thinner, this 1/2 Reale was about 5 -6 inches deep and was almost missed. At first I thought the date was 1787, but closer inspection shows it could be 1767.King Charles III reigned from about 1758 to 1790, so either year is possible. I never found anything this old in the park before, so who knows how it got there. It's only the second piece of Spanish silver I've found

Great find, with some pretty nice detail! Isn't it amazing what you can still find at such a heavily hunted site?
 

Great find! It would be 1787. The design for the 1767 date would still be the "Pillars & Globes". Nice condition too.
