Mastereagle and I went out Saturday all day and hunted a place that we had been trying to get permission to hunt for quite some time. I have never seen a yard with so many targets. Unfortunately, they were mostly all copper pennies! We found a few odds and ends too..but nothing earth shattering. Probably some of the best things I found were this small brass urn and a kids miniature capgun. We actually found parts from nearly 4 or 5 different capguns. The little one pictured here is mostly intact though. Here is everything I found that day:

Here is a Tootsie Toy I found as well as a Matchbox Redline:

I actually dug 121 coins out of the yard. Of these, 100 came from one hole! It was my first CACHE!

Here is that little cap gun. I have one of the plastic handles...the other is missing.

We returned to the same house Monday night and found more of the same. Tons of pennies and trash. We finally moved to a place that we have vacuumed in the past, but thought perhaps there might be one more treasure hiding there. Boy were we right!!!!!!! I started detecting the hillside and found this baby on the edge where someone would have sat. It was about 7" deep. I actually dug the hole and it ended up being about 3 inches behind my hole, but I got it without scratching it.

I also found this old watch that apparently hung from a chain. It is stamped inside "The Gluck Trading Company". It cleaned up pretty well. Anyone know the age of it? House was built in 1908.

Finally, the little camera lighter was found by my buddy Mastereagle as we were leaving. I thought it was a nice addition to a fun hunt.

Yeah, I too love digging up those cap guns. The best one I found was an old 40's capgun that was about as big the palm of my hand with a bull head on the grip. The homeowner kept it. I didn't even get a picture of it. :'(

Nice half dollar, love those walking liberties. I think that derringer cap gun was called the Maverick after the t.v. show from the 50s with James Garner. I found one like it last year. If I am not mistaken it was made by Hubley toy company.

Yeah, I too thought the watch and camera were neat. My buddy found the camera lighter. It was in amazingly good shape.

some limited info I found on the web shows that the Gluck Trading Company was founded in 1955 and is apparently still in business today

Great stuff. Hot wheels made redlines by the way. I have three of that car.....along with about 2000 other hot wheels.

Thanks everyone. We had a great hunt, although we didn't find a lot of keepers. Thanks for the info on the Gluck Trading Company as well. Interesting.
