i found this ring today. i just got home and have these pics. and am hoping i can get a few ideas from you fine folks here at t-net. i;m thinking the first ring is white gold? very heavy. someone sanded inside of it so it would fit them.?
there are no markings at all. it rang up on my coin master pro. at nickle-pull tab. setting.
the second ring my son found when we lived in fla.it rings up as penny-silver. i recently came across it and it has the 925 mark and also a 1k mark on the other side.
any ideas?. they both have a different patina or look to them.....the wheat penny was a bonus find..1911.
sorry bout my dirty fingers as i was pumped up when i got home...i have cleaned them..lol..
OWG...

The 925 means Sterling silver. Are you sure its marked 1K or is it an LK or IK? If it has 2 initials, it's the maker's mark. If it is 1K, it could be gold plated (1K) over the Sterling.

As far as the other ring is concerned, since it has been sanded, you'll have to test it to see what it really is.

Now go wash your hands!

Neat finds :) Breezie

If it rang up as pull tab.......very cool...prolly 14 k or better, also it is a band...good sign.I most highly recomend purchasing a test kit.I got one on amazon for 57 bucks.....all the acids including platinum, scale, files, loop, diamond tester etc.awsome...very happy.

cool finds...silver....best you can prolly get is .50 cents a gram right now....gold maybe 40.00 a gram divided by purity.

good luck
pat
