A Little Dirt Scratching

I got off after work and checked out next door to the shop where there used to be an auction house and a pole barn type dock. We've been slowly tearing down the dock and cutting the pipe up. There's a lot of debris and such under the dock including trash and what not. There's so much metal that a detector is pretty much useless at the moment. After everything is cleared and the stuff trashbagged then we can see what else is there. This auction house has been around since the late 50's so ??? about old silver.
Thought I'd share the pics and some of the whatnot that came to light. Thanks and HH!

Great stuff stoney, WTG!!!
The site does look to have some real potential...
Good luck with it, Be careful, & Happy hunting~

Wow.... :o It's a good thing you can work at it as you feel like it. With all the neat finds when your done you will have to put on an addition. What great finds and how strange to find an older needle like that, be carefull and hope you find something of great value for all your work. :D

Neat finds stoney!

I've never seen the bottle with the heart on it before. You are finding some great keepers there! Thanks for the post!

Nana ;)

Congratulations on all the bottles, I like them. It's funny how we use to have glass soda pop bottles and return them for a deposit, and now it's all plastic and aluminum cans. The bottle bring back memories even if it's only been 20 years or so. :) The cap gun and marbels are really cool finds as well. I hope you find some more treasures there, and "let's remember be careful out there." Yes, I use to watch Hill Street Blues. lol ;D

I'll have some more pics later, not much of an update just yet. Found a few more marbles, a couple more bottles (why there's only one of each brand under there ???) and a 1944P war nickle! SILVER!!
Thanks guys!! We'll keep ya posted.

Cool finds! Tsgman

We will get some pics up later. The 1/2 wanted me to let you know that she went out there this afternoon while I was at work and found a few marbles, some toy soldiers, part of a rosary, and a dateless Buffalo and a 1927 wheatie. We just got a deluge of rain so maybe we'll have some goodies wash out of the 4" deep dust and maybe will help with the MD in other areas.

Waiting on those pics stoney....tap tap tap tap....... ;D

Sounds like she did great!!!! ;)

OK, here's a few pics of the finds from that lot. Remember it was just scratching w/a stick or whatever was handy and gloves were worn because of all the broken glass and junk.
She found a # of marbles, a 1927 wheatie, a no date Buffalo nickle, part of a rosary, and a few plastic army men.
