At first I tbought this little brass thing was a piece of a light fixture or some other electric thing, but now I am not so sure. It has some decoration around the the outer circumference and two little spikes on the back to keep it in place on something. What say you all?

It makes me think of a side plate on a fishing reel but normally they are fully round, although some spinning reels do have half round plates like that and the center hole would be a clicker setting and the two outside holes would be for mounting to reel body.I think an older Garcia Mitchell.Like the 304 or 310.they had round bodies and the inside pins were for alignment. Not positive that it is a Garcia Mitchell there were a lot of knock offs that copied their reels.

Similar... but not limited to... the lever plate on the right.

The straight edge makes me think there would be another half to this thing.
Jewelry box clasps sort of have the traits, ... but, I don't know.

My guess is it is the mounting plate for a porch light fixture. The 2 outer holes are for the screws to mount to the wall and the wiring passes through the center. It being brass makes it likely for exterior usage for its ability to handle weather.
