At a known CW site where a friend had found 50 bullets I got this spur yesterday. My question is does being a wrought iron piece mean it's certainly that old to be from CW. Thanks for looking. 20210204_210902.jpg

To be honest, I'm not sure it's a spur..it's looks like far too
thick of iron.

My first thought was that it could be a bullet mold. :dontknow:
 

I don't think it is a spur either. No place to attach the rowel.

Items like this are good candidates for electrolysis . Hand forged wrought iron can be very old.

I'd agree it's most likely not a spur but it does look familiar , keep at it your doing great & hope your well cousin Jeff .
 

I think it is very old also, but not a spur. I have seen them before...somewhere. I was thinking off a wagon, or a gate.
