I think its a great idea but do you mean an in thesame original denomination?Example ....they did this with the walking liberty half to our silver eagles and the comm one dollar from 2001 with the native american on the obverse like the buffalo nickle and buffalo on the reverse....also in 06 the san fran old mint comm has the morgan dollar reverse.....do tell more I love the idea and love the modern commems and the program and also interested if they stayed with the original denominations.....but damn could you imagine digging a capped bust or so on and then seeing the date as 2014 lol

I mean for that one Commemorative year... In regular circulation, The full design on the reverse and Obverse... I'd love to see the capped bust design come back... it would be a bummer to dig one though lol :-) bring Liberty back to American currency!

I like the idea, as long as it's just one year.

I actually really really like the National Parks quarter line, the artwork is really good. 180 opposite for me is the Presidential dollars, where the portraits are imo terrible.

I would love to see them bring back some of the older style currency. They were a thing of beauty, class and were not made like play money.

Let the states mint only coins Bring back silver, make the penny copper!

Yes, it is s sad state of affairs when I can dig a 40's play coin in better shape than the 2012 "real coin" next to it!

What's next? Bills printed on rice paper?

On another note, what will be the rarity value of that same 2012 cent in 100 years? Even though there were about 6, 000, 000, 000 minted, how many will be left in MS condition? Comemeritive coins are cool no doubt but not so much stamped into playdough.

You've got a great idea. Let me add that all future coins be made from silver. They look so nice when pulling one from the hole. It will make MD'ing easier for future generations.

Also, let's make a commerative coin for Metal Detectorists. Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket.

I really thing that the US currency needs a over haul big time. Those zincoln are so bad once it hit ground its gone asap.

The powers that be would just trash it by making it clad. Soon we will be searching for the micro chips in " plastic" money and if we find any real silver we probably would have to turn it over to them...NOT!

Sounds ok to me. It would be better if we returned to sound money and they made them out of silver again too!

I couldn't agree with this comment more! The metal quality has deteriorated as well as the design quality. Our coins now look like play money, b/se they are.

True but most of them were really ugly, so what does it matter??!! :dontknow:
